Problem Statement

A bilingual literary journal, built on a CMS that treats two languages as equals, not an afterthought.

Challenge

Hakara publishes original literary work in both Marathi and English, which meant the CMS had to handle dual-language editorial content without layouts breaking or one language feeling like a translation bolted onto the other. The platform needed to support a modular, multilingual publishing workflow while keeping the clean, considered editorial design befitting a literary journal.

A bilingual literary journal needing a CMS built for dual-language editorial content, not a translation afterthought.

Our Approach

Working alongside Elements of Poetry (EOP), who led the visual design, Jellylogic developed the platform - structuring the CMS to support bilingual content while maintaining clean editorial layouts across both languages. We focused on modular content management and accessibility, building the technical foundation that lets Hakara's editorial team publish confidently in Marathi and English alike.

The Outcome

The result is a platform where Marathi and English content sit as true equals - modular, accessible, and built for Hakara's editorial team to manage independently, without either language feeling secondary in the reading experience.
